This perhaps would be forever burned into my memory long when I'm driven insane or in a new employment position. (Something perhaps,involved lots of power?)
It was a long day,and a torrent of customers had left me feeling rather bummed out and depressed. I was alone with my co-worker when things finally quieted down, the silence was near deafening.
Slowly he turned to me and stared directly at me and said...
"You know when I worked at the video rental store,people never used to like hearing about late fees..
...When you told them they had late fees they'd look at you as if you told them they had herpes.."
and then there was a long pause...
"..On their face."
And every day since then when I began to feel depressed at work,I'd always remember that.
