Part of my job as an admin assistant at the not-for-profit child care agency where I work includes dropping off the deposit, which contains cheques from donors, home child care providers, etc. I do this twice a week at a bank which is not too far down the street from the agency. The receptionist is the one who prepares the deposit and gives it to me to drop off.
I did one of these "bank runs" on New Year's Eve. The day after New Year's Day, as soon as I cleared the door that morning, the receptionist called me a "lucky girl": apparently, just minutes after I left, the bank was robbed!
I've GOT to get a job in a safer area. (This isn't the only incident of violence there - believe me...)
