  • And this time, I mean it!

I'm putting in my two weeks this week. I don't need this job, I don't need the money that badly (I have enough beer money to last me until summer), and more importantly, if I fail a course I could be adding a year on to my degree. It is not worth adding a year on to my degree, thus making that one less year I can practice engineering and make decent wages just so I can work at crappy tire for 25 cents above minimum wage.

Last time I tried to quit they begged me to stay and offered to give me one day on the weekend off. But with exams, and schoolwork really starting to pile up, I don't think I can work. Add that to the fact that I don't get out much and have to take pills... it's not worth it.

I've been working there for a year and a half now and I want good references. My question is should I write a letter or come in on Wednesday and do it face to face?

Exactly, have the courtesy and do it face too face and with a letter (this way they will have a copy for your employee record, if there ever is a question it's on file. Consider it a little CYA even. And by doing this it should put you in a better light for a letter of reference/recommendation (PS. get the letter before you walk out the door on your last day. Never wait and try and get it after you're employement is already over)
My Karma ran over your dogma.

agreed hand it in face to face, make sure you sign it though...I forgot to do that when I handed in my notice and they didn't officially take me off the rosters till I did!
I am evil, I should change my middle name legally TO evil, I'm proud of my evilness! Makes life fun! bwhaha

I quit yesterday... and when I talked to my manager, it turns out that they were going to get me wasted at the Christmas Party and make me accept the award for employee of the year. Ah well.
