  • I did a bad...

It finally happened. It was all my fault. Yesterday the printer was jamming and we kept fishing paper out of her. I was chatting with a co-worker when she started beeping because of another paper jam. I got annoyed and said "What is your problem, you evil whore?!" Then she quit working. Can't reset her, fix her over the phone with a tech, nothing. I was told not to call our printer names and to be nice but I had enough. I am kinda proud of myself. The timing was brilliant

No idea if this will be any help at all (since it appears yours is totally offline), but printers like their paper to face a certain way. I think it has to do with the way it gets cut before being bound in reams.

My old HP workhorse would behave best if I opened the ream up with the wrapper seam facing up, and the right-hand side sealed over the left. I almost never got a jam if I put it in that way.

I love when machines have that great timing.

It's a photo printer and the paper can only be put in one way but this printer is older than time itself and needs to die...quickly. It's more trouble than it's worth and is costing us hundreds if not thousands in sales.

Well, I know it would have to have the photo side faced correctly, but you could still rotate them 180°, so you could put it in 2 ways...

my mind just hit the gutter.

but um yeah some printers have a lifespan... sounds like yours was clinging desperately to life and finally gave up.

Sounds just like our old electric weed whacker. The thing was having issues with the motor and my dad said "If this thing dies on me one more time, I'm tossing it and getting a gas one."

On that cue, it died on him.

We're not scheduled to go to a dry lab for roughly another year to year and a half. Apparently it's not a priority to replace the printer. As a customer, if the lab I went to kept breaking down I'd go elsewhere. It's just not worth it and no one higher up can see that. Starting with the store manager and up. grrr....
