I have a week off. It is annual leave.
There are 5 projectionists:

L who lives two hours away
D who has been off sick for a couple of months with a bad back
and C
C was supposed to be working tonight, but he called in sick. W works at local theatre/second-run cinema and was working tonight.
So I was called in.
Things go okay till the end of the night, when there is a fire drill scheduled for the end of the night. Which caught me completely by suprise. So I set off the fire alarm, but forgot to call the fire brigade to tell them we were having a drill.
Fortunately the fire brigade call to check that it is not a false alarm and the GM was sitting by a phone.
I went up to apologise to the GM. I explained that I wasn't expectiong the fire drill (even though it is on the notice board) and so made the mistake. I add the immortal words, "I wasn't even supposed to be here today."
