I seem to recall a Dilbert strip (or maybe an episode of the short-lived cartoon) where the company outsourced it's tech support to a company in India, who in turn sub-contracted to a company in Indonisia, who outsourced to Mexico, who sub-contracted back to Dilbert's company.
"So basicly, we're giving away all of our profits to people who aren't doing anything in order to pay our own employees less?"
Recently my company outsourced a large department (all the employees are now working for this other company). Sadly, they did not have an IT large enough in person or geographically to support them so what did this other company do?
They outsourced my department to support them.
I still work for the main company, I just support the people who were outsourced now (in other words, with the exception of a few small programs, nothing has changed).
