our company gives every one a xmas dinner in the staff canteen,served up by the senior managers and our general manager, who is miserable bastard most of the time , actually dressed up as a woman,complete with stockings,secretly I think he enjoyed it(can post a picture if anybody wants to see the shear horror)

When I was workiing at a call centre, we needed to have our holiday party in teams, because of course we couldn't all be off the phones. So we would do it during our half-hour lunch break, and the event was called a team meeting. It was always potluck, of course there was no alcohol . If we as a team had logged in enough OT hours before the event, we might get an extra 15 minutes. Wow, then we could have our team meeting, eat the food we brought, and have time for smoke too. Woo hoo, way to go, former employer who shall not be named here.

I didn't attend this year's party, even though I paid for it in part. Early reports suggest that many people didn't turn up. The usual format is a room booked with snacks and a bar available, and we provide the fun. This time, it was all organised with a much vaunted 'cabaret' act.

My sources so far tell me that this was a male ballet dancer who was so flaming they nearly called for a fire engine.

Our parties every year are at a Casino on the Strip. This year, it was at the big pyramid shaped one. Getting in and out of the place was a pain in the ass because Metalli-suck was playing at the casino next door. Apparently, that casino and next few casinos down the strip don't have enough parking for a sold out show ;p

Our party was kinda standard. Great food, served buffet style, a DJ, and door prizes through the night. They had a bar for us to drink and gave us a couple of free drink tickets.

Dresscode for the night was "Holiday Best." I decided to wear this.

About the only bit of dubious gossip from our do to surface thus far is that a load of them decamped to someone else's house. One of the young ladies fell asleep and one of the chaps began to take pictures up her skirt. He's apparently the only one who finds it hilarious and can't see why other people don't see the funny side.

My holiday party was low key. Held at the boss's house with snacks, drinks and a Yankee gift exchange. I ended up with a beer stein, which is almost as cool as receiving a Ben Stein.

Mine was on the 5th of December...

Other than the first half an hour, I have NO memory of it - so it must have been a great night!!

Heaps of food, and free alcohol Literally hundreds of people there as it is a huge company, and the company had hired out the whole bar for the night!

I guess the office ordered sandwich and dessert platters for us yesterday. However, I started my shift and midnight and found that all the leftovers (including ham sandwiches, coleslaw and salad had been left sitting, un-refrigerated, on the breakroom table! It looked good, but I wasn't going to risk it!

The work Christmas party was held at one of the Vet's houses. Got my fiance' to come with me and we had a nice time. Played some Rock Band and socialized a little. White Elephant was very interesting though. Lots of presents that I would not want to find myself with...
