One of my CWs, whom I'll call IDK (she and I have a 'game' we play where we'll look at each other, shake our heads, and say "I don't know..." and play off each other's responses-- "I think you know." "No, I don't know." "You think you don't know, but you know, you know?" etc.)
Lemme start again. One of my CWs, IDK, has gone missing.
Monday, the closing crew at the wholesale club was in top form. We got everything done early enough that we were given leave to go home by quarter past 10, which is super early. Hoss and I left about that time, and IDK was still finishing up one or two clean-up bits before leaving.
I found out yesterday (Wednesday) that she never made it home.
From what I've pieced together, IDK was having car problems that night. No one's sure what she did, but she didn't make it home.
The police were at the store on Tuesday asking about her, trying to find out if anyone had been in touch with her. No one had.
I'm hoping she's all right. I always felt like the shopping center where I work was a fairly safe place. Now it doesn't seem quite as safe anymore.
(Note-- I'm not too worried about myself. I can look after myself, being a man 6'2" tall and hefty enough to make troublemakers think twice. I worry about some of my coworkers, however.)

UPDATE.
IDK has been located. She's in the hospital at present. No one knows anything else apart from that: no idea where she was, what happened to her, what her prognosis is, anything.
The positive is: we know she's in good hands now, and we have to hope for the best.

UPDATE.
I know some specifics now, and because I'm not sure if there's any ongoing investigations or whatnot, I'll try to be as vague as possible.
IDK called the store tonight and spoke with the MOD, MS. I don't know what the conversation was about, apart from IDK is coming back to work next week. What got me concerned about IDK's health was that it was a relay call. Since IDK isn't deaf, that told me she must have been hurt seriously enough that talking still wasn't an option. (Or at least talking loud enough to be heard on the phone?)
My coworker Hoss spoke to MS about the incident, to see what he could find out about details. Hoss then relayed some of them to me.
Apparently, IDK was being stalked by someone. That's all I feel comfortable saying, not wanting to reveal anything further.
Hoss and I have already talked about "buddying up" when the closing shift crew leaves at night, especially where our female coworkers are concerned. We want to be sure that what happened to IDK doesn't happen to anyone else.

UPDATE.
Well, it appears IDK will not be returning to work at our store. I found out from Hoss-- who keeps in touch with a lot of our CWs and ex-CWs better than I do-- that IDK's health coverage through the company was cancelled, so she left us before returning.
I can understand it from corporate's standpoint ("her medical problems cost us money, cancel her coverage!"), but that doesn't mean I have to like it. It's a shame, 'cos IDK was a good worker.
Sigh. I just hope she lands on her feet, wherever she does.

UPDATE!
IDK HAS RETURNED TO WORK!
Apparently Hoss was misinformed when he was told that IDK was not returning. She looks to be in good health, good spirits, and it was literally as if she'd never been gone.
I did not ask her what had happened, or for any details at all. All I asked her was "I thought you weren't coming back," and she said that wasn't true, that it may have been management trying to obfuscate things. Regardless, she said she wasn't going to talk about it, so I left it at that.
So, a happy ending, as it were!
