oh the group interview thing is fun.

one job interview involved me sitting with 3 people at the same time firing questions at me in rapid sucession.

another involved me being "interviewed" by a whole town council with their current IT guy asking most of the technical questions.

THEN there is the serial interview. this is where you "interview" with different persons going up the food chain/org chart basically all in one sitting. starting with the HR person and progressing to some senior level VP with 3 persons in between one right after the other. all in a 2 hour period while getting shunted/walked to the next person up the ladder. by the time I finished I was totaly lost in the building.
I'm lost without a paddle and headed up SH*T creek.

thirty or so years ago i got a part time job at "electrical store which sounds like an indian dish" and whe i had the ineterview, there was a teapot on the desk.

At some point the interviewer said "the teapot's ringing, what are you going to do about it?"

So I picked up the lid and said "good morning how can I help you?"

Another candidate said he told the interviewer not to panic, and he would disarm the teapot's alarm as it was faulty!
      Reminds me of this:

It took me 3 months for my clearances to come through - I'm guessing yours didn't take that long?
No. Only two for the background check. I was working the whole time. Weirdest situation I've ever been in. I guess I should note that I had two years experience in Security before that. YEARS ago. So I had done all the background checks, etc before. I am so squeaky clean that I don't even have parking/speeding tickets.
Engaged to the amazing Marmalady. She is my Silver Dragon, shining as bright as the sun. I her Black Dragon (though good honestly), dark as night..fierce and strong.

Had one of these myself. The problem was I told them when we set up the interview that I couldn't stay long and asked to reschedule it for a time when I could. "No, you'll be fine." Got shuttled everywhere and half the people interviewing me didn't seem to have been either notified or prepared. It was a disaster, then when it _finally_ finished they "promised to let me know." They never did, I called a few times and got a runaround. But the whole situation proved to me that was a good thing.

The other was for a summer job in college, selling encyclopedia's door-to-door. It started with a group interview, then those "chosen" got one-on-one counciling sessions once a week. I did some research and got really bad vibes about this. When one of the other "lucky contestants" missed a meeting, was spotted by my 'counciiler' and chewed out I deliberately missed my next meeting. They sent a letter asking me why I stopped showing up which I threw away.

To this day I'm glad I didn't take that work!
