I never served a celebrity, but I do seem to recall meeting Matt Hardy (pro wrestler) at a Walgreens. Nice guy. I only noticed him because I complimented his jacket. We talked for a bit, then I said I felt like I'd seen him somewhere. He pointed out that I was holding a Matt Hardy action figure.

      So, I guess celebrity encounter/brain burp. X3

Back when I worked at a Gas Station in Scottsdale, Alice Cooper would come in to buy his Cigarettes once a week, But I actually didnt recognise him untill my coworker pointed out to me who he was, and then I wondered how I could have NOT NOTICED all that time. And the Time Leslie Nielsen came in for Gas and a Soda was awesome.

Just about every one around here has run into Neil Patrick Harris at some time or other.

          This is very geeky:
Back when I was in junior high, the advanced education program had a kind of camp thing up at the College of Santa Fe. I had a class that was taught by David Levy of Comet Shoemaker-Levy 9 fame. It was a small class and we were having a discussion. He told me I'd make a good teacher because I was great at explaining things!

          I've got some quasi-encounters:
We "had lunch" with Randy Travis and Val Kilmer in Santa Fe....by virtue of the fact that they were at the same restaurants having lunch at the same times we were.

My mom went to school with Pat Garrett's granddaugher.

I had to get someone to move from Natalie MacMaster's seat when she went to a concert I was ushering for.
          I love her music!

A number of local newscasters (they qualify as celebs here!)
I seem to run into a lot of ours for some reason. Actually had my picture taken with one of the weather guys a week ago. The station was giving away iPads and I won one.

Charles Barkely (possibly the nicest celebrity I have ever met)
I just read an article about how great he was at the Pro/Am Golf Tournament that's held every year at Lake Tahoe.

I went to college with Kim Rhodes (she is the mom on "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody" (she was extremely nice at school)
I remember when she was on "Another World".

Only one I can remember, a very minor one, and I didn't personally serve him. Tim Harris, who was once a linebacker for the Green Bay Packers (and a pretty darn good one, back when the team generally sucked).

He was in town for some charity event and was going do a stint in the dunk tank. He bought a water gun to shoot at people as they were trying to dunk him.

I'm told he was very nice and offered to sign anything SM would ask him to. Me, I would've asked him to perform his sack dance instead.

If school stuff counts, then Gwar came to my high school my senior year. Our band teacher used to open for them. It was pretty cool. I got their autographs and pictures with them.

I was getting my hair cut and dyed (I ain't goin' down without a fight!) last week, and always use that opportunity to read their People and US, and etc. "famous people" magazines. I have come to believe that if some of the new celebs ran into me on the street, or vice-versa, I would have absolutely no clue who they were.

Rich is awesome, one of those people that is a joy to work with as well has just hang out and have a beer. He's really funny. He also picked me up a couple of times when i was at a pretty low point with some stuff that was going on in our theatre department.

One of Fiance's clients was an NBA team that includes a star who has a very famous wife. Fiance met most of the team at a corporate event (they were nice enough) and shot an ad for the very famous wife, who wouldn't talk to anyone other than her sister. They got the sense that she wouldn't talk to anyone because she thought she was too awesome to talk to them.
Sounds like Tony Parker and Eva Longoria.

hm, Frank Langella, very nice guy, although I understand he can be a prick.
Was the dinner companion for Dr Paul Berg at a symposium at RIT that my company organized. Really nice guy, we had a fascinating conversation on genetics in SF novels as compared to real life. He almost got me into studying genetics.
Had lunch with Peter S Beagle, he had come to my school in 1980 to do a reading of The Last Unicorn for an art exhibition my school did that year focusing on unicorns. Sweet sweet man. He gives a hell of a reading.
Picked up and housed Dr Ruth Westheimer when she came to do a lecture at the college my BF of the time was on the entertainment committee for. She is an absolute blast to chat with =)
I chat with Lois McMaster Bujold on her email list, and have had dinner with her - lovely lady. She participates incredibly actively on the email list, and in the email list at Baens Bar. She likes to keep in touch with her fans a *lot* and will actually consult the list for information for her books =)
Ran into Tom Clancy at the New London sub base library once. Real prick - he wanted me to move from the carrel I was using and told the librarian to tell me to move. [it was one tucked all the way in the back away from everything, near the kiddy room. Very quiet and next to an electrical outlet for my laptop. Probably why he wanted it.]

                            Possibly...

The ad company people (some of whom still work for that company, hence the lack of names) were making merciless comments behind her back because of her attitude. Seriously, you don't grow up dirt poor in Corpus Christi and then pretend you're too cool to talk to anyone in San Antonio.

I also met the drummer from Sum 41. He came to our high school to talk to our band class.

I don't think I've met anyone famous at work--at any rate, not anyone famous that I actually cared about.

Outside of work, I've met a few:

Doug Jones: he was the Pale Man and the Faun in Pan's Labyrinth, Abe Sapien (and others) in Hellboy, and I had to try VERY VERY hard not to go all fangirl on him! Also, he is probably the single nicest person I have ever met.

Weird Al Yankovic: Very nice guy, very quiet. Gave me an autograph.

Ron Perlman: Star of Hellboy (and actor in MANY things), and very nice guy. He signed a book for me!

Mike Nelson, Kevin Murphy, and Bill Corbett: the 3 dudes from MST3K!!!! Not only funny, but all of them VERY nice.

Mike Mignola: Creator, author, and artist of Hellboy.

Yes, I'm only really interested in geek celebs. I'm a geek: that's how I roll.

I work for an anthropomorphic/steampunk/anime convention in wisconsin every spring and this year our guest of honor was Joe Suggs the guy who used to be a disney animator. He was a really really awesome guy who instead of giving out autographs gave out drawings in peoples sketchbooks. I got a drawing of a snow leopard done in mine.
