    kind of.

I was at $9.75 an hour, and was bumped up to $10 an hour, but, being an owner, I have deferred 25% of my pay to keep things going in this downturn. Thus, I make far less than everyone else there.

A raise? What's that? ... Seriously, what is it?

What is this thing called a raise?

I've never gotten a raise since joining the workforce, not without switching to a new job for a competitor. Right now, I'm being paid less then the minimum industry standard wage for my field and experience.

For the last group of places I've worked (since 2004), the owner would keep saying that there is no money for raises, yet there would be money for new personal vehicles for each person in his family, large scale house renovations, trips for his entire family tree, etc.

well... i got hired, so does going from "nothing" to "paycheck" count as a raise?

and after i'm done being a full-time temp, i am expecting to be hired directly by the company, at a higher rate. not sure how much higher, maybe just 2 bucks more, but i'll also get benefits too so that'll be nice.

I was told at Lowe's I'd get a raise once I moved to receiving, but then was told I'd need a review after 90 days. 90 days after hire or move?

I intend to ask HR about that one soon.

My wife got a $3.50 an hour raise though.
