I never posted anything about this before out of fear of jinxing it, but now I can.
I have another full time job
A new position opened up at the school. A brand new job has just been created in the office area. The job involves helping run and organise evening classes that take place, such as adult learners who come in or the after school kids clubs, as well as helping promote the school to the local community, and encouraging people to come to the school and try something new. It also involves working closely with teachers, hiring out classroom space and finding people who would like to come in and run evening classes themselves.
I had my interview today. Three other people were there for one as well, and all of us already had postions in the school. One girl had a lot of office experience, and I was certain she would get it.
Less than ten minutes after my interview, they called me in and said I had the job.
And get this...they gave me the job because of my previous management experience i.e: working in the pub! All those years of abuse have finally paid off!
I start in September. I still intend on applying for teacher training courses at university for 2011, but I am not putting all my eggs in one basket. I am keeping my options open, just in case the job goes really well. I am also keeping my other paid postion with the kids, so I am not being taken out of the classroom altogether.
So, in three weeks time, I will be able to hand my notice in!
