The cellular company we sell for and have a service center for has implimented a new policy. It is related to a new law stating that no cellular company can sell or maintain a non-GPS capable phone on their network. The deadline has come, so now we can no longer get ANY parts for the old phones, and if we have a part and do a repair, we DO NOT get paid on it. (We used to get reimbursed for the cost of the part, and get a small comission.) This is an issue because there are still a LOT of customers with older phones, and quite a few of them have the service and repair plan. They pay $3 a month so if their phone breaks, they can come to the service center and have it fixed for no cost at the time of repair. Now we have to charge even them.
Is the cellular company notifying these customers? Nope. They will just keep paying the $3 until they find out, apparently.
I will surely have many, many stories of raging, angry, screaming customers. What a joy this will be. Although really, this isn't anyone's fault but the company's. To me, the customer would be justified to be pissed off. I just hope they don't throw anything or try to injure us or my nice clean store.
