  • Gooooone!

Today, after more than 7 years at my first, and last, retail job, I finally told my supervisor that I want to quit. My last shift is on Saturday. I'm so excited! No more counting tills, asking the customer to select their account on the EFTPOS machine, tying up bags for home delivery, putting loose stock away, picking up change from the counter after the customer has ignored my outstretched hand, getting price checks, not getting a reply when I greet the customer, or starting at 6am on Saturday mornings when the rest of the sane world is asleep!. I'm off the clock for good! After Saturday, that is

Raps, I just decided to give it up so I can have some more free time! I'm a high school teacher, but I kept the retail job as a back up. Now I realise that I can manage without it .

There are other teachers on here. Our students are our "customers" now, and they can still be just as sucky as ever!

Don't forget parents. They can be worse than the students.

And moronic management? We're talking managers who answer, in most cases, to elected public officials, or are elected public officials... who have a huge number of shareholders to answer to, who have even a wider set of business theories than most boards do.
