So hope at last or disappointment #19343?
Our new accounting manager apparently doesn't like thieves and people who are incapable of performing the basic functions required by their jobs. This is upsetting many people because it means they can't steal anymore and have to do their jobs. I don't think many people took him seriously until he fired his entire department in a single afternoon for a variety of petty thefts. Makes his job harder, but it got the message across.
The next thing up is time clock use. There's a great many people who seem to find it difficult to do things like punch in, punch out, and punch for breaks, you know, the most basic things the time clock is there to do. A whole lot of people are upset that he's actually going to enforce corporate regulations about proper time recording. I'm really hoping it sticks because we could fire about 75% of the terrible workers just for time clock mismanagement and I'd love to see my problem worker gone due to not punching (the best part, the time clock is about 5 feet from our office, there's absolutely no excuse not to punch).
