  • Why Do I Bother...

When working hard and trying to do my job the best I can, I seem to get into more trouble than if I did no work at all like half my coworkers.

You've drawn attention to yourself by your hard work and effort to do well. Often, getting the attention of higher ups is a bad thing, as they prefer their peons to be nameless, faceless, interchangeable cogs.

Never be too good at your job. Never make a name for yourself as being overly reliable or good at multitasking or dealing with pressure well. You will be taken advantage of.

Can I be even more negative?

You can get to a point of no return, where if you take it down a notch to lay low and just to be treated like everyone else, you'll just get in trouble.

            Not negative, realistic.

                I agree with this 1000%.

It's the slackers who sit on their phones, texting/talking in plain view of management and customers who seem to get promotions/raises/hours.

                    I don't get it.

I'm fabulous at my job. Most of the supes, higher-echelon peons and whatnot of the various stores, often come to me FIRST before seeing the boss, because, well, i know everything. Totes not bragging on this one. I do. I've been there only 2 years, but i know where everything is. Also, boss has put me in charge of placing an order on sundays cause one of our suppliers is adamant that it "MUST be done on Sunday!". 'Tards. W/E.

Also, Idjit L got another write-up. This makes it his third. I think. I can only hope he actually gets fired on his next muff-up.

And I have to work with this guy tomorrow. Not looking forward to it. Would rather spend the day with someone else lol.

Because the bosses above them don't consider them competition. If they promote someone competent, then they might have to step up their game.
