Just found the elusive Second Job

So, living in Salem can be a bit pricy and they've cut back my hours at <office supply store>. But fortunately I was able to land seasonal job at a very well known candy store in the Essex Mall.

If you stop by there and the store isn't too busy, be sure to say hi. I wish I could say I'd gladly hook you up with a discount on fudge but the best I can do is a smile and a great to meet you.

It's only my second day today and I'm still learning some stuff. I've also been consuming as much pseudopherdine as legally possible to keep the symptoms of this cold/fever under control while I'm in contact with the food.

Wish me luck. Food service is not my strong point and though I'm not technically making any of the food, there are mistakes I could make. So keep me in your thoughts as I try not to ruin my chances of getting in good with the town populace.

I wouldnt call a candy shop food service, however, FS is all about personality. You wont win them all, but generally if youre upbeat and funny you tend to do well

Well, it didn't work out quite as well as I hoped.

Too many anixeties racing in my head and although the manager said I was doing well on some things, I just kept seeing all of the mistakes I made compounding.

There are just too many mistakes I could make that I can't just walk away from or try to do better the next day.

And then there's the subtle things. I wasn't allowed to tell a customer "be safe" or "Good luck", because they were presumptuous.

Well, how is "Take care" or "Have a good afternoon" any better? If you can take one thing to the logical extreme how can you take anything else?

I don't know, there are plenty of Help Wanted signs out there so this won't set me back too much. I knew I wasn't going to last long in anything that involved contact with prepared food but at least I tried.
