Back injury the 1st. Working for a auto part manufacturing plant that made fuel pumps. Packing these pumps with help from a CW. CW is not watching what they are doing, I am leaning over the crate to straighten some things out..and CRACK..trying to throw the object into the crate..instead hits my back. No cameras, they deny everything.

Back injury the 2nd. Was mega mad rush time in Wally World. Everybody was pitching in to get everything ready for the holidays. I pick up a breakpack (breakpacks are left overs that had no space on shelf and can be just about anything) to set it aside, take a step back..there is a pallet behind me FULL of breakpacks..I fall over backwards..end up rehurting my back. The next time I hurt my back was not at work..and I ended up bed ridden for 6 months. *shrugs*.

Concussion. Back at the auto parts plant. High pressure hose comes loose, whips around (and up) and smacks me on the temple. Yay for ambulances. Got some paid time off for that one.

Hmm that is all I can remember
Engaged to the amazing Marmalady. She is my Silver Dragon, shining as bright as the sun. I her Black Dragon (though good honestly), dark as night..fierce and strong.

Years ago was walking my bosses Dog & slipped on black ice on cobblestones & bruised my coccyx.. I thought that was all til later I got severe back muscle spasms that were protecting the lower discs I'd bruised too

Later job it was the usual cuts, minor burns & fat splatters that happen in a kitchen, apart from one time I spent the whole lunchtime session sat in ER waiting to have a deep cut on my finger glued back together (can't see a scar at all!). Another time, someone had smashed into the tiling in the kitchen & brushed up & neglected to tell me there was sharp pointy bits of tile left, and I leaned on it with my forearm while mopping under the grill... stitches in that & a nice scar.
Also at that job, another back injury when someone called me as I was lifting a heavy pan off the stove top... instinctively turned to see what they wanted & POP. Managed to put the pan down instead of dropping it & ended up walking to ER as I couldn't bend enough to get in a car when the person who called me offered to take me

These days I don't have to do anything to injure myself.. my over stretchy joints see to that
      Arp happens!

Just when I was getting used to yesterday, along came today.

Deepest cut I've had was when I was working on an older bag rack and I banged my hand into the bag rack. Sharp edges....yeah, I took a bit of skin off of my hand and I still have a scar from that on my left index finger.

Otherwise, I wound up twisting my ring finger in a shopping cart. Long story short, it got jammed and when I tried to pull it out it hurt like HELL.

The rest have mostly been bruises and scratches.

          not me but hubby
the worst one i saw was when he was delivering bread to kitchens and cafes. This cafe required him to place the pallet of bread at the top of a staircase. he lost his ballance and fell down the stairs, reinjuring an old knee injury. in the end he needed a knee reconstuction.

          before I knew him he's
*had 3 fingertips on his left hand mauled by a machine and nearly lost them. only a wonderful microsurgion saved them but he has no sensation in those tips.
*split his kneecap while in the army falling from a helicoper during an exhibition.

When I was a waitress, I slipped on the kitchen floor carrying a tray full of plates. Every single one broke on my head. Concussion, probably, but I couldn't afford to go to the doctor. Fun Fact: I was wearing the "no slip" shoes my work forced me to buy or else I'd "slip and hurt myself."
You should have been covered by your employer's workman's comp insurance. Never should you have to pay out of pocket to be seen by a doctor if you've been injured at work (at least not in the u.s.).

I used to have a friend that was in the Coast Guard, and he had the nickname of Walking Accident Report when he was on ship, because he couldn't do anything without doing some sort of minor to moderate damage.

He'd broken every finger at different times, usually only one or two at a time.
He managed to acetylene torch every fingertip, too, over multiple sessions.
He'd broken several toes over several different events.
He put his back out at least once.
He'd had a few concussions as well.

And all that was in the space of only one or two years, and none of it was serious enough to really take him off duty for long.

I hit my head on the corner of a metal marquee display and gave myself a deep cut and it bled a lot. Went to the clinic next door for stitches. Felt really dizzy and my coworker was freaking out.

Sorry if this one is a bit TMI, same coworker also accidently kicked me hard where it counts when bending over to get something and her leg kicked back. The counter area was really narrow and she did not know I was behind her.

Broke both my elbows tripping over a crate at my first serious job. Ended up needing surgery one on one-freakish think, the physical therapists had never seen t hat sort of injury before.

The worst damage was to my boss, though, I had never seen a man turn green before, as he did when I drove up to tell him I'd not be at work in the near future with both my arms in full casts. Poor guy.

I have a friend like that too. The guy managed to sprain a finger, while playing chess!

I know a guy who knocked himself out at a firing range.

(against instructor's instructions, he held a .44 with one hand and fired. The uncontrolled recoil caused the gun hit him in the forehead. It was an... interesting shaped bruise.)

My cousin tore open his thumb at a firing range, once.

He wasn't used to sliding firing mechanisms and was using a two-handed grip on it. Which is kind of funny, since he had to slide the thing when he chambered the round in the first place.

I managed to cut myself while shaving - with an electric razor. Unknown to me, the foil on the cutting head had broken between 2 of the holes, leaving a nice sharp point sticking out.

I picked up a sheet of paper once and messed up my shoulder and neck so bad I couldn't raise my hands above my chest for a month.

That was really some piece of paper.

                              Oh, how could I forget:

                              Theater Scene Shop:

screwing around after hours, me and some of the guys were running and leaping up onto the huge work table in the middle of the room. Work table was edged with angle iron. Instead of landing on my foot, I missed and landed on the angle iron with all my weight on my shin. Peeled back the skin so that you could see the blue tendons underneath. OMG, the blood.

                              Channel 25

You aren't supposed to thread the huge old three quarter inch video machines while they were running. You know why? Because they will suck your fingers through the scanners, crush them, and fling them out through the other side before you even know your fingers are going through a VTR machine.

Closest I ever came to passing out from pain. Had nerve damage in my index finger for several months after that.

I do my injuries outside work...
My best so far: I broke my knee cap, stumbling upwards on a stair. It was a nice concrete stair and the step hit me right in the middle of my knee, ouch!
I was on my way to buy some new protective gear for inline skating, esp. knee protectors! Gave the guys at ER a good laugh too.
