    Yes, clients, we still would like to be paid for the labwork we performed for your patient, even if the patient is:

    1) deceased since the labwork was performed;
    2) pregnant; ()
    3) applying for Medicaid.

    That is all.

    If I didn't work in insurance, I'd hazard asking why pregnancy should negate a lab bill...but I won't.

      I don't get it either, but I've had clients hesitate at giving me the needed information because of those three conditions. I even had someone say recently, "But she's pregnant!" as though that somehow constituted a mystical condition in which the patient was not to be held responsible for the costs of her labwork.
