The Parking office employee involved in this post:
Missy *not her real name*: Parking office clerk
Visitor Parking was blocked off for a reserved event beginning at 7 p.m. tonight around 9:30 this morning due to the reserved events that were scheduled for the first shift, my shift, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. The open sign was on when I got to work at 7 a.m. this morning. So I allowed anyone to park until 1) the full sign was turned on & 2) I placed the big white sign stating Visitor Parking is closed for a special event in front of the Visitor Parking booth.
Around 1 p.m. Missy comes down to the Visitor Parking booth to let me know that she will come down to the booth around 6 p.m., & to let the 2nd shift attendant know this. Then she bitched at me about all the students who were parked in the garage at that time. She wanted me to do the following the next time Visitor Parking is closed for an event for the 2nd shift, which is from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. or for an event beginning after 6p.m.
She did not say that I had to tell visitors & staff *if the staff member cannot find a parking spot in the faculty/staff garage* this, only students.
So around 2 p.m. after she had already left I went inside the Visitor Parking garage, & I counted 3 student parking permits. There are 55 spots in Visitor Parking.
Andrea *not her real name* is the Director of Parking & Transportation. She is Missy's direct boss.

- I have to ask the person if they are a student
- If the person is a student, then I have to tell them there is a big event later on
- today & that they need to be out by a certain time
- If they cannot be out by that certain time, then they cannot park
