I"m not in canada so I don't know how it works up there, but how can mail delivery people go on strike And why on earth are you getting your check in the mail...I either want it handed directly to me or dropped in my account.

Im glad to hear that RB, my taxes (I had to mail them in because the tax people wouldn't let me file them online) got mailed in last monday. I hope to god they made it in time! I have a $800 refund that we NEED to come back.... great even if the tax forms made it in time, my cheque is going to sit there after it's issued.

Even here in the states, some companies mail the first check. A lot of direct deposits take a couple weeks to set up for some unfathomable reason.

wow....I just can't fathom mail not being delivered for even a day let alone longer....and no buses for 3 months? I'd be screwed if that ever happened here I depend on them for everything, including commuting to and from work.
