Finally! After more than two months of my managers telling me I would be moved inside to a department, it finally came true. I am no longer a loader. I am...
PAINT MAN!
I get to work inside and mix paint. And I got a raise!
No more sweating my butt off, no more cuts and gouges and hernias and lacerations and back aches and heat stroke for this old boy.
It's a piece of cake job. I haven't had any training, yet started running the machines on my first day. The time goes by a lot faster too.
Now for the bad news:
When I was hired, I was part-time, but worked 40 hours a week. Now that I am in a department, my hours have now been cut to around 30. How am I going to pay mortgage, child support and bills on that? The big bossman told me that me going full time was almost a certainty when I transferred.
Yeah, I know... "almost a certainty." Never make promises.
