I work with my best friend. I'm a writer and she is one of 3 editors I work with. She's taking classes to get her Masters in teaching. One of her classes is a writing class. They were talking about writing with voice and how to do it when you could care less about the subject matter. Then she shared one of my recent pieces with the class as an example and told them I've written hundreds of those pieces and I can still churn them out with voice.
My best friend told me it did not make the impression it should have, cause the class reaping was basically "well if I were getting paid to write I'd write with voice." She says she is having a hard time getting them to understand how hard a job a proffessional writer can be.
