When the SM's away...
So, my SM took the weekend off to spend with family that's visiting. I had the store to myself this weekend (as in I was the top manager there). I held a sidewalk sale on Saturday to bring up our weekend revenue. On Sunday we hit the store cleanliness/organizational issues hard. It's more of an ongoing battle for us because since the remodel we have MORE product and about half the space to keep it in.
My SM called me yesterday at home and said:
"I walked in the store this morning and was just.. Wow!"
He was seriously impressed with everything from the weekend. Then on our conference call with the DL he praised how well I ran the store this weekend alone to her.
Now, I've been doing this a long time and I know I can run a store by myself- but this was the first time I've had a full on chance to prove it at this job.
Oh, and one of my Shift Leaders has decided I'm "The Mom" of the store. I guess this is good- she made it seem good.
