So my father wanted me to work as a cashier at our local Freshmart supermarket (fellow New Englanders will want to know that it is one of the 3 regional chains here in this neck of the woods, won't say which because reasons). He got talking to one of the floor stockers, who agreed to put a word in for me if I gave her my application.
Got a call and got pulled into an interview today. Went in, met with a manager who pulled me into the breakroom for an interview.
"Ok, here's some paperwork. I-9 forms, state forms, sign here, sign there, got your license and your Social Security card? K, cool, let's make copies. More forms, sign this, sign that, you used to work for Aid of Rite right?"
"Yeah, the one on (xxx st)"
"Cool we just hired a kid from that store today"
"Oh maybe I know him?"
"Yep his name is (coworker J2)."
"Oh excellent! I know him, he's a good kid!"
"Yep said that you guys never made a lot of money there."
"Yeah I made about $x.xx when I left after 5 years."
"Yeah well here at Freshmart we make y.yy. Anyway. Congratulations, you're hired, let's meet your new supervisors and the store manager."
So...an interview that wasn't an interview but a job offer in disguise? I'll take it!
And I'm also excited about working with J2, he was a good kid. Wonder if he'll be surprised to see me, hahaha.
