Bit o' background:
I left a really good job in TX to move back to WI, on the faulty advice of an HR rep. (essentially I was told that the market was flooded with applicants, and while I was a good candidate, no one would look at me since they wouldn't want to pay for relocation). This was in April.
I moved since it seemed like good advice, and I had 3 jobs I believed I was very qualified for, with start dates at the start of May. Needless to say, I did not get these jobs.
So, after several fun months of searching for a job, and working as a temp for my Uncle's business, I received a phone call from one of the three companies. I had originally interviewed for a supervisor position (entry level, with no experience at managing, but lots of experience in my field). I knew it was a long shot at the time, and wasn't too suprised when I didn't get it.
So, anyway, the phone call..... It was the HR girl wondering if I was still looking for a job. I said yes, and she wanted me to come in for an interview with a new supervisor, but no one else of the 5 interviewers that I had met the previous time. (Hmmm...maybe the guy that took the position I wanted???
)
I had my interview on Monday, and he spent more time talking than interviewing. I got a call yesterday....I have the job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yay!!!!!!! Not only that, but it's making $2,000 more a year than I requested, which was $3,000 more than what I was making in TX!!!
So.....New professional job.....$5,000 increase......Get to move out of parent's house ASAP.....Very, Very Happy DragonRose!!!!!
