A couple weeks ago, I got a job at a local grocery store as a butcher block/seafood counter clerk. The interview pretty much consisted of 'Will you show up and will you work?' Of course I told them I would and was honest about not having any experience in the area. The manager and her assistant said training me wouldn't be a problem. They just needed someone reliable. Shortly after that I was filling out the paperwork for the prove I'm not a druggie test.
I ended up going in for the computer training and paperwork on my birthday. Makes it easy to remember my start date. They had the typical cheesy training videos. No one is that happy to be at work. But, at least I got paid to look like I was awake during them.
So far, the job has not been bad at all. I'm a fast learner, so I picked most things up the first day on the floor. The majority of my customers have been really nice. Actually, I wouldn't consider any of them sucky. A few of them are a bit on the picky side, but they're at least nice about it.
