It's not a promotion or a raise or anything but my manager and her boss apparently trust me. 
There's a spa conference in Orlando this week that both my manager and the director of sales and marketing (my manager's boss) at The Spa are going to. They'll be gone for five days, starting tomorrow. Guess who was put in charge of everything up front?
One of the massage therapists will deal with any problems that might arise with the therapists, but I'm basically acting manager when it comes to the front desk of the spa and clients. I asked my manager if I could go to the Front Desk (of the hotel) manager if I needed to and she said if it escalated really bad I could but to try and deal with it on my own; they trust my judgement.
I just thought that was kinda cool. There's another girl behind the desk here that's been here a year longer than me and trained me and she wasn't put in charge. Another girl has been at the hotel about 10 months longer than me, on an internship transfering departments, but she wasn't either. Apparently I have seniority at the moment.
Yay me.
