It's not guaranteed yet.
However, this morning my boss came up to me and told me I "really need to request a 90 day review" and strongly hinted at a raise.
Where I work, the employee has to request a review. Raises cannot happen without a review. I've been in my current department about 4 weeks now, and generally raises can't be given out before 90 days.
A loophole is... since I transferred from another department, I can request a 90 day review since I was in my old department over 90 days. I've actually been employed for 50 weeks by the company now, and only had 1 review.
So far I've snagged a $1/hr raise in my old department and got hired into my new one at the same rate. And my new/current manager is very liberal with raises if, and only if, you bust your ass. If he sees you slacking off, he finds any and every reason to get rid of you. Most of the department makes $12+ an hour - I'm at $11. I don't slack off, stay late all the time, and show up early every day (clocking in the first minute in the "7 minute window" every day).
The maximum raise per review is $1/hour - my last review got me a $1/hour raise. I get called in and stay late all the time, and I bust my ass... I hope I see another $1/hour coming my way. My fingers are crossed!
Wish me luck! I do know I've gotten the attention of store management (in a good way), so that's definitely going to weigh in my favor.
