I am super-excited right now, but since I'm still at work and they haven't made the formal announcements all around, I can't tell everyone here - so I'm bringing it to the forum.
As some of you may know/recall, I work in a call center, which is part of a CS organization that encompasses multiple call centers. I've worked in a few of them, and have contact with the rest, and have really wanted (as long as I've been here) to either get in to a lead representative role or get into training.
Well, I've interviewed a few times, unsuccessfully, for those positions. When the training team opened up two positions recently, I almost passed it up, but my supervisor and my mom convinced me to apply.
After two rounds of interviews, I got pulled aside today after a meeting by two of the trainers. They told me they needed to talk to me, and said we were waiting for the supervisor to come by. I'm sitting there, getting more and more nervous that I didn't get the job, and in walks THE ENTIRE TRAINING TEAM, including the supervisor's boss (who I love, sidenote).
The supervisor starts out saying something about a third interview, blah blah blah, then goes, well, the first question we had was "how soon can you start?" I just kind of looked at her, a little shocked, and said "As soon as they'll let me go from the call center?" She then goes, "Ok, second question, would you like to join the team?" To which, of course, I replied "Absolutely" then smiled a lot, laughed and actually clapped my hands, all while thanking them repeatedly.
I then made it as far as the parking lot, where I called my dad and had to hold back tears while telling him. Then I called my brother. Then I talked to my mom, who didn't pick up her phone when I tried calling her, but called me back shortly.
So yeah...we're still working out the details for how soon I can start, but I'm super excited, as it's something I'm looking forward to doing, and will give me a chance to move back to "normal people" hours. So yay! And thanks for reading, if you made it this far!
