  • Job interview went well!

I had an interview on SATURDAY!!! YES, SATURDAY!! with a staffing firm. The position is a six month contract with the right to hire.

It's still helpdesk, so I'll still be in my element, and it's an entry level position, so I'll be making 50 cents more an hour, and doing significantly less work. It's not education, which is the only thing it's got against it. I'd miss education.

The process is a long one, which might involve me interviewing with the account manager, then interviewing with the client. With luck, the majority of these interviews will be phone interviews. As I'm roughly 100 miles away. Getting time off won't be hard, but I'm saving up time off for a trip in May. Hopefully, I'll have a new job by then, but still.

So, long process ahead of me. (half hour later...)

Well, actually, maybe not. I just did the phone interview with the account manager, who happens to be the head of the company. She agrees with the guy I interviewed with, and is going to present my resume to the client... TODAY! with a possible interview THIS WEEK.

Good ole Jenni may just have a new job!

Congrats on getting past the headhunters!

I've got my last few jobs via the slave-trader route, and it does make life easier as they are trained to pimp you around. Yes, it is like legalized prostitution, but they are a great resource for job hunters.

I have an interview with the client tomorrow after work!

I'm excited and nervous at the same time.

I really don't want to leave my current job, but I want to get moved back home. Le sigh.

Not only did the phone interview go very well, but the quickly scheduled face to face interview went very well.

Everyone, cross your fingers! I'm expecting an offer any time now!

No news is sad news. I'll call the staffing firm later today if I don't hear anything by then.

I got a call back from the staffing firm. The company wants to interview one more person before making a decision.

So my new job isn't quite in the bag any more.

I just got an email back from the staffing firm, no decision has been made yet. I'm living in hell waiting for my cell to ring!!!!!!!!

BUT, I got the info I need to send out a thank you card to the guy who interviewed me. Maybe that'll be the last push needed to make a decision!

Thank you cards are always good. We've had a lot of our clients do the hurry up and wait routine. I feel bad for my candidates when it happens but hopefully you'll hear something soon!

Bugger. What other prospects are there? Still looking, I trust?
