My boss sat down and went over my review with me today.
The best news - I got the maximum raise he was allowed to give me. And the review was generally positive. We both agreed I don't always play well with other coworkers, but he told me I'm awesome with customers and equally awesome with my cash handling.
When my paycheck showed up in my bank account this morning, my jaw dropped. It was about $150-200 more than I was expecting. When I got to work I asked him about it, and he told me he had included a bonus on this check because of how much money I raised for the local food bank during the holidays (I raised more than anyone in the store, 1 person came close and got the same bonus). Turns out it was a $150 bonus.
My next 3 checks also have bonuses, as does everyone else in the store - we work on a gainsharing system based on labor usage vs sales. 2 of them are the normal, monthly payout, 1 is the year end payout from fiscal year 2009.
Nice start to 2010... even though my first shift in 2010 resulted in my drawer being $40 over, doh.
