So after three years of waiting, hoping, praying and begging....
I might finally be getting supervisor trained.
So how did this come at hand?
Long background following:
First off, we got a new Store 2IC. Very cool, doesn't take crap from anybody type woman. And awesome. Main reason behind this is that a direct relative of the now Former 2IC transferred (and was made supervisor, but that's another story)
Second point of background, is that whenever my current supervisor has to go count the cash drop, or have their 10-minute break, I'm usually the one who gets left in charge if there are no other supervisors. I'm allowed to use that supervisor's numbers to do overrides and quanities (since we can't be trusted to use the quantity button
) and that is IT. I am allowed to serve cigarettes, but I can't do any of the other supervisor duties. This includes the following:
-Selling mobile phones (state law requires you to fill out a sheet and show some ID)
-Process 100 point ID checks for credit cards.
-Count drawers.
-Use the RF guns.
-Process refunds and exchanges.
-Process scanning policies (the law in Ausland is that if the price of the product on the shelf is cheaper than the price on the checkout, first product is free, rest are at the reduced price)
-Answer external calls.
I am allowed to do the following though:
-Use the PA to call for backup.
-Make internal calls.
-Send people to teabreak if the sup tells me to.
-Give orders when I'm on my own.
End background:
So the other night I had to let the Store 2IC know that I would need her at some point for refunds etc. when I was acting supervisor. It's more of a "if I need you" scenario, rather than a "I need you to hover around the desk for 10-15 minutes".
She gives me a funny look and then asks me why I don't have supervisor numbers yet. Turns out now that she's going to talk to my manager and see if she can arrange for me to be given numbers.
So this means I might be trained up to be a supervisor.
