Well, today I was offered a job as a patient care tech at a small community hospital. This will be beneficial for when I graduate from my paramedic school and getting experience in general as a nursing student.
The shift is 3 pm to 3 am (I know, odd!) but that benefits me since I can sleep in till 1 pm. My biggest complaint about nursing clinicals is that they started at 6:30 am. I am not as happy as I would be if I could get up at like noon hence why my next clinicals are at 3 pm. It's 2 days a week with rotating weekends so that's perfect for me. I block my classes Monday and Wednesdays so pretty much I am at home by 4 am and
This is very beneficial! The pay is pretty good, the experience is worth it, some tuition reimbursement, and it's part of a large healthcare network. Meaning when I do get my RN, I may be able to have a better chance of getting hired than an outsider. I have an hour job, but I am so excited! I love my ER time for paramedic and even as a nursing student (my instructor arranged to have me in there for a day because she ran out of patients to assign).

Are you in the ER on or a floor? I hope it's fabulous and your long days aren't too much to handle. I find that moving and staying busy keep me awake on long shifts.
