  • Insurance Co woes

Grrr. Not a happy camper. Back in April, I got rear-ended on my way to work. No damage to my car, but my shoulder and neck hurt. So that night, i hightailed off to the urgent care, which confirmed it was just muscular. Fine. A month later, still killing me, so I went to my regular orthopedist.

Jammed shoulder, etc. and got a cortisone shot. As is the case in my state, since its no fault, any and all medical claims for accidents are paid by my auto insurance, not health (or you at least make that choice, and i have coverage for that, so most people do).

However, it didn't occur to me that i needed to actually call and open a claim for just medical, i guess since there was no damage to my car, so just didn't think of it.

Until I got the bills. Ok fine, so i call, open a claim, and was assigned two adjusters, one for the car, and one for medical. Called and left a message that day for the medical adjuster, who called me back, but after I had left. I have now left THREE additional messages for her, and she has yet to call me back.

Completely unprofessional, and I am not happy. Not at all. I'm giving her until the end of the week, then calling back the insurance co and asking for someone else to speak to. This is ridiculous. And her message says NOTHING about her being on vacation, or out, or anything like that. And this company is very strict about protocol, etc. so IF she were on vacation, it would say so.

In the meantime, i called the guy in my dr.'s billing office who handle auto accident claims, told him what's going on, and he's going to prepare and send bills to her. He also told me i am not responsible for payment utnil all is said and done.
