  • Wow..just wow..

My sister told me that her grandson (my grand nephew) has impetigo. He then followed up by saying, "Oh, it's not contagious."

I weep for that ER. I truly do.

    DDD: Cuz it's cool

So, by using the Doctor's reasoning, bow ties, fezzes and bandanas are cool.

NOT contagious? so all my time in huggslie land (a certain store used to have this before they took it away. i think it was only in texas) and the several pieces of paper they had to sign all of which had a list of diseases that cannot be allowed in, basically impetigo? no go.
    yeah fail, major major fail

and just for clear measure say if i or someone JUST got over an illness i still wait 24 hours to go out cause its still contagious or can be passed to another

Tiny drift...does anyone else know someone who thinks nearly everything is a symptom of "infantigo" or is it just my family? Gotta love being told that everyone will think I have "infantigo" every time I have more than one zit on my face at a time.

Yeah, impetigo isn't contagious just like how all other bacterial infections aren't contagious. If your grand-nephew is in a school of some kind, why do I picture him being sent there anyway without concern for whether or not the other kids will get it? Hell, some things are contagious for days before symptoms manifest.

With some things, this isn't true - but if you're not sure, this is an excellent plan and one I wish more people followed.

But it's probably worth your while checking with a doctor and/or pharmacist for how long you're contagious.
        Seshat's self-help guide:
        1. Would you rather be right, or get the result you want?
        2. If you're consistently getting results you don't want, change what you do.
        3. Deal with the situation you have now, however it occurred.
        4. Accept the consequences of your decisions.

Oh dear, Slayer, I'm sorry about that.

The doctor is only part of this huge deal. Other part is that my sister's sometimes not so smart son (oh there are a few tales with him), decided to wait almost two weeks before taking grandson to the ER. Now, if it wasn't contagious, then please explain to me why his younger brother and sisters also have it now, and why his mother now has it too?

And why the school he goes to had to inform all the students, had to have the school disinfected and is now telling his parents that they will have to keep him and his siblings out of school until they're all cleared by a doctor.

            Not contagious my ass.

One idiot really can cause a moderate health crisis.
