Personally, I'd recommend glysophate instead. It kills the plant (including the roots) then breaks down into a fertilizer.

Admittedly, that's not perfect for preventing weeds growing up among a path. Your local nursery can probably advise you on something.

Or you could plant flowerless ground cover in the cracks and make it a virtue. Herbs smell good crushed underfoot.

    2. If you're consistently getting results you don't want, change what you do.
    3. Deal with the situation you have now, however it occurred.
    4. Accept the consequences of your decisions.

I'd have used vinegar/water combo. And kept self busy picking them, I like getting weeds out and pretending they're the people I dislike.

actually our driveway is gravel or at least was when we moved in. We would like it to go back to gravel, it gets really slippery in the winter. The hubby's truck can only rip it up so much. The blackberries are behind and next to our garage so those really do need to go.

I like your idea Seshat. I could plant a ground cover after I use that stuff?
Coffee should be strong, black and chewy! It should strip paint and frighten small children.

Absolutely! In fact, that's part of what glyphosate (sold in Aussieland as 'Roundup') is for.
