Meh, I don't believe in getting the flu shot, even though it's free since I work at a pharmacy. I heal better from colds if I turn to more natural remedies, like ginger tea or herbal supplements. I don't like "Daysil" or "Nightsil" or most cough syrups either because I hate the feeling of being drugged on top of feeling sick. Herbs, bed rest and time for me. Of course, your mileage may vary, but natural stuff works for me.

In one of lupo's threads here in this section (was it lupo? Someone was complaining about having chest issues) I recommended a mix of alcohol (gin, brandy or cognac) with lemon juice and honey. Tastes awful but the alcohol dries you out and gets things moving faster.

I don't much about herbs or natural medicine, but this article and this one can give you some ideas.
