    Well, some drugs can be absorbed through other routes but I am not very versed on street drug usage. I can't find anything on it so it may have been a war story of one of the paramedics who work in a very well-known drug city at my clinical site. They have a lot of idiots in the city.

        Drugs can be administered by any means imaginable, they can be IV (as discussed here), IM (intramuscular) - basically into the muscle. They can also be delivered via a whopping great needle into the bone (IO) or by absorption through the mucous membranes in the mouth (as well as ingestion, inhalation, rectal, subcutaneous and probably dozens more that I've forgotten).
