Yeah.. my side of the family is stubborn. My mom broke both her legs, so she had one of the potty chairs beside her bed. She refused to allow us to help her get on it, since all she had to do was lower one of the rails of the medical bed and push up and over to sit on it. We'd put a screen up so she'd have privacy, she'd wipe and we'd clear up the potty. She still hated it, because it meant we had to clear up after her, but... *shrugs* They thankfully didn't allow her to have crutches at the time
