Did you try boiling it at the end of your period?

I wash in soapy water, then steam-sterilise, and store it in a little bag with bicarb soda.

By next period, it smells of silicon-y stuff and the sort of dusty-powdery carb soda smell. Rinse off the carb soda, and you're ready to go.

I take a no-period pill, and with the exception of a few spotty days every year, everything is fine.

No one ever said you *have* to put up with a period.

Isn't it lovely?! No migraine, no anemia, no cramps, no nausea, no fatigue, no feeling like shit for a week every month.

I've only had a little spotting once in a great while. But, since it happens only after I've had a yeast infection, I think it has more to do with that than they BC.

Unfortunately I do. Anything other than a pill with a monthly period sends me into a tailspin when I should be having my period anyway. Sucks.

It's so I can get ideas out of my head, I decided to put it in a blog in case people are bored or are curious as to the (many) things in progress.

I use two pads because there are times when I like to lie down. I don't think a menstrual cup will work for me then.

I know the diva cup will work just fine for that.

You can lay down just fine, the blood won't go anywhere.

My cup runneth over with yet another reason to celebrate my hysterectomy at 34.

:whine: I've been begging for one for years.

As for the no-period pills: messing with my hormones has, in the past, proven to be B.A.D. So ... no pills for me.

Yeah, they can be a bit pricey. I put mine in, in anticipation on if my period is coming tomorrow or not. You can kinda feel it for your first two cycles, but it should soon be normal and you get used to it.

So, period came today. I got way too over excited to use the cup lol. But it's working like it should. I had a couple of false starts a while ago, so I got some practice out of learning how to insert the cup. At least I'm smart enough to know how to insert and remove it, yay!
