This is a sighting from Hubby's coworker at the gated community he works at.
To utilize the marina at this particular community, you must register your boat and display the registration sticker on the boat and boat trailer.
CW caught a repeat offender launch her boat without registration. The woman then proceeded to dock her boat at the guest dock without permission from the office to do so.
The woman had, in a move I'm sure Argabarga would appreciate, tried to throw Security off her trail by taking a license plate off her boyfriend's trailer and zip-tying it over her own. This ingenious plan was thwarted by the fact that (1) she was a repeat offender and Security immediately recognized whose trailer it was, and (2) she had only zip-tied the top of the plate, allowing Security to walk up and flip it up to reveal her own plate beneath.
The illegal launch was $150. Using the guest dock without permission was $50. She then argued with Security over her new $200 ticket.
Bonus: Annoying Drunk Guy
Annoying Drunk Guy (ADG) comes up to the Security gate and asks Hubs to call him a cab. Hubs tells him he can't do that but gives him the number so ADG can call his own cab. ADG is going to the pub. ADG has a beer in hand to make sure he has a head start on the evening.
ADG then hangs around and tries to make small talk, not taking any hints that he is annoying and unwelcome to loiter there.
ADG: "You ever been to Canada?"
Hubs: "Nope."
ADG: "Oh....you ever smoke weed?"
Hubs: "Nope."
ADG: "Oh....well you know you should because [dialogue Hubs tuned out]"
Hubs: "Mmm hmm" *does not look up and continues surfing Internet on computer*
As Hubs was clocking out and his CWs were clocking in (his CWs had been in the guard shack through most of ADG's small-talk attempts):
ADG: "How much do you make?"
Hubs: "Enough."
ADG: "Like, how much an hour?"
CW1: "That's classified."
ADG: "Really?"
CW2: "Yeah, and actually we're trying to do shift change and have to discuss 'classified information' now." *shuts window on ADG*
