Short and sweet: I stopped at the grocery store on my way home today for a few things (finally found my Ben & Jerry's Mint Chocolate Chunk! w00t!) and got in the express lane with my basket. There's a spot under the end of the belt to put baskets, and there were 3 under there. One was halfway nested in the one under it, and the next person obviously just put their basket next to them instead of fixing them so they could all be stacked properly. Normally I would have fixed this. The guy in front of me fixed it first! Yay! I said "it's nice to see I'm not the only one who does that" and he said something pleasant (that I can't remember). He didn't have a store card and I was going to let the girl scan mine for him but I couldn't dig my wallet out in time. Oh well.

Yes, there are some considerate people, even kids. I often see kids just naturally being helpful, and I'm glad for the parents that don't berate them for it. I'm appreciative of the customers who take the hangers off the clothes for me when I'm cashiering. It's my job; it's nice of them and easier on my hands. Makes my day to see people treating others as human beings.

I try to take things off hangers, too. Especially if it's a sweater or something that could get snagged or stretched. Then I'll fold them with the tags out so they don't have to turn everything around every which way.

The other day, oh the other day... *sighs*

One big, BIIIIIG HUUUUGE pet peeve of mine is people who decide not to take cold food and leave it somewhere, just drops it around, to rot... I think about the poor animal that had his life taken away to make food to sustain another living craeature, and this person just left it to rot for nothing. it makes me BOIL.

Well the other day in the checkout the woman in front of me decided she didn't want a cheese she was taking as she loaded her stuff on the belt. And what she did? she opened the fridge for drinks next to the register, put the cheese in a clean (unused) spot and closed the fridge.

I thought I was going to cry with joy. It made my day... I barely contained myself from hugging her (and possibly doing some prisson time ) but it felt so good!

Ah, it also bugs me when people put breakable things in unstable spots. I got on line once and there was a large jar of spaghetti sauce perched on one of the magazine racks that could easily get knocked off. I don't know if it would have broken if it fell onto the belt, but I sure wouldn't want to find out, let alone be the one to have to clean it up. I took it off and gave it to the cashier so he could put it somewhere safer.
