So today was my third day at my new job (liking it so far). I take the same bus route as I did to my old job, but I go the other way. Today I got off at 5pm and took the 5:30 bus home. At one point I took off my headphones to listen to stop announcements.
The bus was dead silent. I'm used to a bunch of obnoxious teenagers in the back, people chattering into cell phones, and one or two guys with long beards loudly describing their medical problems to total strangers. On the crowded rush hour bus, not one person was making the slightest noise, not even the baby and small child traveling with their mom.
All you could hear was the engine of the bus and the hum of other traffic. It kind of freaked me out a bit.
