  • I wish I got her name

Not a sucky sighting but a very nice one

Last night I was doing my grocery shopping and went to the registers to cash them up. There were only 3 lines open and one was about to close as I noticed the customer being served there had a sign saying so.

One line was very long but contained mostly people with only a few items, and one person with an overflowing trolley. The other had one person putting stuff on the belt, and another with a trolley so I waited there. I have no issue with waiting, so I didn't mind. However, the girl on the register that was meant to be closed came out to look at the other lines and noticed me standing there. She kindly asked me to come to her register and she would serve me. I was very pleased and made sure I went very fast and got myself out quickly so as not to keep her there to long.

I really appreciated what she did and tried to get her name of her badge but her hair covered it. She was VERY KIND and I just wish I had just asked her name; I'm still kicking myself and just hope I see her again so that I can make a compliment to her manager .

Oh well that was my nice sighting

That IS a nice story. I like those.

Maybe her name was on the receipt? Or maybe a cashier number? A lot of stores do that.

I'll bet there's some kind of identifier on the receipt. If you showed it to the manager they could most likely find out who it was. If you could describe her they might be able to figure it out, too.

Last night I went grocery shopping and the lines were not too long (3-4 people) but with most people having full-ish carts. I was getting on one line and there was a guy at the end of the next line who I guess was undecided on which line he wanted to be on. As I joined the line the guy in front of him said "I guess you're on this line, then" and he said, "Oh well, there's nothing on TV tonight anyway." Then an employee was directing people to other less crowded lanes, and she pulled me over to an empty one and rang me up. When I thanked her she said she did it because she had sent someone else to a different lane but realized I was there first, so she opened the new lane for me. I told her no big deal, "as the guy next to me had said, 'there's nothing on TV tonight anyway!'"

Sidenote: Saturday evening is not a bad time to do grocery shopping. I went around 7pm. Most people go in the afternoon on the weekends and the cashier told me it had been crazy earlier in the day. But then they go home for dinner and either go out for the evening or stay home to relax so the store wasn't too crowded.
