There's a new type of electric battery that's just being introduced on the market.

So far, they are only putting it in an SUV body, two different models. The company is called Pheonix, and PC Magazine has an article about it. Supposedly, the vehicle handles a lot like a standard low-end SUV, except for the way it reacts when you pull your foot off the gas. They're looking for a price of around $45k, which makes them a bit expensive, yet.

I passingly thought of a hybrid when I was planning on a new car a few years back, but they were too expensive. I also wondered about how much repairs would be on one of them compared to a standard car.
I loved the matrix, I'd get about 25-30 mpg in that thing.
The Forester I get around 20-25, not too shabby for an in-line 6, I suppose.
