Okay, now to find a way to get up to Jersey from Missouri on a budget that can't even afford shoe-strings... unless it involves Newark. Every person I've talked to from NJ says the place really IS the right armpit of America.

And Union NJ.... I hate NJ and will never set foot there again (had a NIGHTMARE trip to NJ nearly two years ago, and until it's wiped from my mind, forget it!Quoth JustADude View Post

My mom had a layover flight once and had to stay in Jersey for a few hours.
She said she'd never seen such snotty, rude people in her life.
I, on the other hand, find it hard to believe people could get any more rude and snobby than here in CattleScrewing, Cousin-Kissing, Redneck Racist Land. You really need to see a neurologist. - Wagegoth

"Yeah, y'know, those durn gas pumps will steal your identity! Next thing ya know, they're out buying big-screen TVs and stereos and Porsches an' drainin' your bank account! Durn those gas pumps!"Quoth blas87 View Post"Those pumps will steal my identity!"
Sheesh. Before we moved to Oregon, we used Pay At The Pump all the time. Nothing bad ever happened from it. Pathetic technophobes need to get in touch with the 21st century.
I don't have an attitude problem. You have a perception problem.

I have the same fear, and I too make certain I get a receipt, especially now that all the pumps are pre-pay, with signs saying 'Due to the increase in drive-offs...' If for some reason in today's world they think I didn't pay (despite the computer records, etc), I want that slip of paper in my wallet to show to the cop. The station that called it in would be the target of a few choice words as well, for putting me through the hassle. It's not likely to ever happen, but I tend to be a bit paranoid.Quoth Jack7957 View PostI was always worried when Pay At The Pump first came around, because somewhere I had heard a story where the employees were calling the cops on people that drove off, thinking they hadn't paid. So I always made sure to select yes to get a receipt just in case.A fact of life: After Monday and Tuesday, even the calendar says W T F.....

Believe it or not, NJ's gas prices are the lowest in the nation.
Interesting considering the sheer mass of humanity (at least in Central/Northern NJ) and the fact that there is virtually no way you can exist in NJ without having a car (there are some exceptions).
Newark airport isn't exactly a great place to get stuck in... it's hardly fair to categorize the rest of Jersey based on NEWARK (the New Jersians will know what I mean!).
You can go to just about any other airport in the country and get friendlier service.
Yes, we have some of the rudest people in our state...it's sad to say.
We're also very fast paced. Get the F*** out of the way of the New Jersey people, that's for sure! You can especially fear for your life when driving through our state. Tip- if you're scared, don't drive the highway...if you absolutely have no choice, and you don't know what you're doing, get to the right. You will be less traumatized that way. Road rage is the epidemic here.
That was the most interesting part of my trip to Louisiana. Things are so danged SLOW down there! It was a nice change of pace...but this is still home. Rude, obnoxious, impatient people and all.
Of course, you can go to South Jersey...that's just like being Down South, if you know what I mean...(dueling banjos and all)
what were we talking about? j/k
(sorry)
All that being said, I hate when someone invades my personal space, too. And I make sure (as a cashier) that I take my sweet ass time when ringing out someone who is obnoxiously impatient.I will not shove “it” up my backside. I do not know what “it” is, but in my many years on this earth I have figured out that that particular port hole is best reserved for emergency exit only. -GK

I hate it also, when some one invades my personal space. Also on our register at work, we just have the buttons programed for the deptment, and I always take my time on looking for it. But I am just being cautious about that, and not charge them a pre-set amount.

I'm from California, and I say San Bernardino is the armpit.
Blas, you're right about the snotty people, if you are talking about Wisconsin. Midwesterners have the stereotype of being friendly, neighborly, down-home, but I don't find it to be true. I actually find it to be true of a lot of Californians."Is it hot in here to you? It's very warm, isn't it?"--Nero, probably
