  • How's THIS for your weight loss? (AKA: Best exit evah)

This is technically a sucky worker quote, but I found it facerockingly awesome.

Alright, my friend and I both decided to quit the fast food place we work at on the same day. Today was supposed to be our last day but since the training programme there is apparently run by retarded monkies, I have to train new weekend openers. 'Cause, you know, leaving the only weekend opener as the guy who's been talking about leaving for 6 weeks.

Anyways. He was in the last 10 minutes of his shift, working the till. This rather large and trashy-looking woman comes up to the till, places her order, all is well. Then she starts going on about how bad the food is here, really loudly, and talking about how we should include diet pills and stuff with our food.

So, my friend goes up and says 'Actually, we're instituting a new weight loss program here. Interested?' Of course, she says yes, so he picks up her bag of food and promptly drops it in the trash.
'It's called the Put Down The Goddamn Fork Plan. Have a nice day.'
And then he left. I cheered, along with most of the people on shift. Manager was not impressed, and even he admitted it was a good show.

Eh, I wouldn't call it the best exit evah, most likely the suckiest and most childish exit evah. JMO of course.

Wow...that is awesome, and also about the most immature thing I've ever heard of.

As much as we joke about doing stuff like that on our last days at a job, it's always best to do the job the same way you always did. You never know if prospective employers will hear about your last-day shenanigans.

I would laugh too. Partially with the co-worker, and partially at him.

Give her some of that new Alli with her fat-laden burger and fries. And a travel size stain remover; She'll need it...

Of course if you gave diet pills with the food she'd complain about how expensive it is...

I'm thinking she might need a bigger size bottle of stain remover

Don't just crap all over his story. Of course it's worth noting I've said similar things to customers and I still have a job, but we aren't coporate.

Sorry if it sounded that way but I am not crapping all over his story. I was just giving my opinion on what I thought of his co-worker's behavior.

The manager said that he knew he shouldn't have done that but really wanted to do it himself, so no bridges were burnt, fortunately.

Yeah, it was mean, immature and childish. But I laughed.

Honestly, not the most stellar example of maturity I've ever seen, but still...
Why in blazes is the woman eating there if she's so upset about the fatty food?

I will cast my vote for wrong on both parties, employee was wrong for acting childish and woman was wrong because she is a complaining whiny SC.

                          Still, it was kinda funny.

It might have been childish, but it was fuckin funny, and I'll admit I'm jealous.

I don't think she was crapping all over his story, actually. She was stating an opinion that the behaviour was very childish and not very smart.
                              I happen to agree.

I have quit a a few jobs in my life, and no matter how much I hated them, I always worked my last day as if it was any other workday, because, guess what? I was getting a paycheck for that day too, and a person never knows when they will need a reference, or a future employer will do a background check.

That guy may not have burned his bridge, or so it seems right now, but I'm sure that customer left the restaurant that day pretty darn pissed off, and that incident was probably repeated to several people.
I am sure it has hurt the business to some degree.
I know if I heard of an incident like that, I would really think long and hard about going to a place that treated its customers like that, no matter how sucky.
Too tired of living and too tired to end it. What a conundrum.
