Friday I was pulling into the grocery store lot and went down one of the aisles, and saw a spot close to the exit. I have two kids, so if they are with me, I try to find the closest exit spot I can. Otherwise I just park wherever.
Anyway, I saw it a little late (it was behind a huge van), but in enough time to where I could easily just 90 degree back in instead. I looked and there was no one directly behind me, except this one car just turning into the aisle, but she was far enough away so no issue.
So I am still backing up, and I look back, and this black car is directly behind me, and I thought I was going to hit her. So I wait there for her to move and she's screaming something at me, hand signals, etc, which I eventually figured out that she was upset that I was parking there. Apparently, my backing up and turning wasn't enough of a clue that I had been there first, and that there is no rule/law you can't back into a spot.
I had my dark sunglasses on, so I was pretending not to hear her, and I just slowly started to back up again. She didn't move, but I was still far enough away so I didn't hit her. I park in the spot and put my car in gear, and was getting my purse and my kids' stuff ready. So she drives past and parks in a spot only 4 cars away! A minute later, this fat-as-hell-woman-in-a-mumu from the other car, walks by yelling and screaming about something, blah blah blah. My radio is still going although I do hear her voice and see her out of the corner of my eye (i still have my sunglasses on), but I am also turned to my boys talking to them, telling my oldest I expect good behavior, etc. So I just pretended I didn't hear her. Had I not been with my kids, I may have just confronted her about it, but I really didn't feel like telling this woman off in front of my oldest (who is 3.5 and a parrot) and have him either repeat my words later or think it is ok to talk to people like that at his age. He's got enough of an attitude and I don't need to encourage it!
I am still in my car (I had sat there for like 7-8 minutes getting a bottle ready for my youngest and getting my coupons in order and going over my list) when she walks by again, with 3 cases of sodas in her hand, but she didn't even look at me this time, and she got in her car and drove away.
Heaven forbid she actually walks 30-40 extra feet to the store and back... not like she didn't need the exercise.
