I'll admit it. I wasn't in a good mood today. Mom's in the hospital again (nervous breakdown) and I hadn't gotten much sleep. The sighting is short, and my response is very snippy.

I was in line at a local grocery store, where this woman ahead of me in the express (15 or less) lane was causing a large scene. I didn't catch her whole story, since I wasn't paying that much attention, but from what I could gather it seemed she had either found something that she had a coupon for, but the store wasn't taking it; or had several coupons that they wouldn't take. The whole time, she was being horrid and was taking things out on the poor cashier.

The whole scene escalated, finally ending when she paid for her goods and stormed out. The cashier looks to the lady just as she leaves and to her credit says "Thank you for shopping." The lady's response being something to the effect of "It would have been nice if you had a better attitude." Then she left.

Walking out, I'm going over my receipt checking my purchases and what not. I'm not far over the threshold when I hear the lady's voice chime up again. This time she was speaking to me. You know, I really don't remember what she said, but I do remember my response. Without really thinking, I looked to her and said quote

"Oh shut up. When I want some crap from you, I'll pinch your head. By the way, that's more than 15 items."

She did shut up and gave me a blank stare. As I said, I was seriously sucky there, but really, she had no reason to take things out on that cashier.
